Join the 1 Million Swimmers Movement : A South Africa - US Partnership for Impact
AmCham South Africa and its members are invited to support a landmark South Africa–United States initiative that aims to use the power of swimming and sport to save lives, create opportunity and transform communities.
Soweto Swim School, in partnership with the Swim Up Hill Foundation, founded by two-time Team USA Paralympian and LA28 Ambassador Jamal Hill, is launching the South African chapter of a global movement with an ambition to teach 1 million people to swim every year.
The partnership will officially launch in Soweto on 22 September 2026, bringing together government, sporting, corporate, international and community stakeholders around a shared vision of expanding access to swimming and water safety, particularly in underserved communities.
