Amcham monitors BEE closely, debates current issues, and keeps members up to date on BEE by presenting regular courses and seminars.

We provide one hour presentation to company executives on HIV/AIDS

Networking
Amcham organizes a number of networking forums where members can grow their networks. We also provide structured networking on an individual basis.

A monthly newsletter is sent out to members which informs members of Amcham’s activities during the month. New members are profiled in the newsletter.

News
Amcham circulates news of business importance to members on a regular basis.

Parliamentary Monitoring
We have a dedicated parliamentary representative who monitors legislation and provides us with the ‘inside story’ in terms of government action.

Lobbying
Amcham pursues productive dialogue between the South African government and US business to facilitate growth of US business in South Africa.

Monthly Business Breakfasts
Monthly business breakfasts are provided on topical issues which are not only informative but also provide a networking platform.

Seminars / Conferences
Regular seminars on business issues are presented at a nominal charge.

Thanksgiving Dinner
Amcham hosts an annual Thanksgiving Dinner in accordance with American custom. The dinner is a sell out event every year.

Stars of Africa Awards
In an effort to showcase what Amcham members are doing in terms of socio-economic development and corporate social responsibility, we have created awards to recognize excellence which are handed out at our annual Thanksgiving Dinner. Best practice examples are published in our Awards Report.

Golf Day
Amcham members enthusiastically take part in the golf day, which is a superb networking event.

Trade Missions
Amcham arranges trade missions to Africa at the request of members and in tandem with the US Commercial Services Department.

Briefings
We provide briefings for senior company representatives who visit South Africa.

Weekly concise economic reports
Members can request to receive a weekly Review which is a brief report on the previous week’s economic and governmental activities.

Profiling Opportunities
New members are profiled in our newsletter which is circulated to more than 1000 business leaders, stakeholders and government representatives.
